Reciprocal linking alive and well
I’ve read a number of newsletters or blogs lately saying that reciprocal link trading is dead. I have to admit, I hope all my competitors are buying into it, because if they are, I’m just going to be out ranking them in the search engines. With Google’s Jagger update my sites have all moved up in the SERPs. For my sites about 70% of the off-site optimization is made up of reciprocal trading. So no one can convince me that reciprocal trading is even remotely dead.
Reciprocal trading doesn’t have as much weight as one way links, but it still has weight. Reciprocal links are far easier to come by than one way links too. One thing, though, that is really important is that you do reciprocal trades with theme relevant pages. Don’t be trading with anyone and everyone or your reciprocal trading is not going to do you much good.
