Cardio training is more important than strength training. One of the oddest things I see from time to time is someone who is overweight (and it is there goal to lose weight) in the weight room pumping iron. That is not going to help your body get rid of excess fat; it is simply building muscle. When a person becomes overweight, they should simply worry about cardio exercise, and not necessarily strength unless they want to do both. You need to address the correct problem, and cardio train primarily if you are looking to lose any weight.
