Lets scrap Google Page Rank

Just the other day Google updated Page Rank (PR). I don’t know why. I think they ought to just scrap PR all together. There doesn’t seem to be any consistency in how it works now at all. I have sites that have a PR 0 on the homepage and then a subpage has a PR of 3. I have another site that now has a PR 5 homepage, but all the subpages are now PR 0. I have other sites that have PR 3 homepages and then a number of subpages are PR 4. It’d be cool if there were just a smidget of sense to the whole thing, but NO. Heck I wouldn’t care about PR if link traders didn’t care about it. But there are still tons of link traders that base most of their trading strategy on PR.

Man, either Google gets some consistency with PR or they ought to just bag it. If it doesn’t make any sense for link traders – the only people that really care about PR – then it’s really not worth much anyway.

I didn’t even think about the flaw in consistency when I wrote about this earlier today. But yeah, that’s a big problem as well. There is no real method to the madness.

    Thanks for stopping by!
