Fiction Books Have Lessons, Too

Although fiction books aren’t academic, and are not supposed to teach us any principals or life strategies, they often do. If you read a fiction book about someone’s struggles and their eventual break through, it will motivate you to try hard and believe you will break through as well. Fiction books can be just as inspiring as self-help books. I recently re-read Ender’s Game because it makes me want to be perfect and extremely smart. You could classify it as sort of a case study self-help book. By looking and examining your characters lives, you do learn about life. So next time someone tells you fiction is a waste of time, don’t listen to them.
