When you are giving a presentation, the key is to identify with your audience. If you are going to be talking about the stock market with 4th graders, you need to make it exciting and entertaining somehow, maybe with prizes or games, but if you are speaking to experienced traders, cut to the chase and tell them why you are making this presentation and what your point is. The last thing you want to do is misread your audience and make your audience feel that you think they are dumb, or make your audience think you are dumb and a waste of time. It seems that the key is to focus on what applies to your audience the most, whether it is the informative content or the entertainment aspect.
