For a small business, hiring a consulting service may be the difference between failing and succeeding. I heard a story once about a business that produced video games, from development to marketing, and it was doing extremely well. But, there is a point where your business can be doing too well. The business was growing so fast that it ran out of capital, and had to file bankruptcy even though it was selling games quickly. The business owner had met with a financial advisor about a year before the bankruptcy, and the advisor told the owner to scale back a little and wait before releasing the next couple of games, and to keep some cash in reserve. The owner didn’t listen, and went bankrupt sadly.
