Singer Rihanna has released a statement after the alleged beating she received from boyfriend and singer Chris Brown. In the statement Rihanna states that she is “not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown.” The statement was released just hours after the website TMZ posted a photo of Rihanna that showed the bruised and beaten face of the pop star.

The Los Angeles Police Department is upset the photo leaked to the press and the department has officially started an investigation into the leak.

Chris Brown, 19, is currently under investigation for assault on a woman just hours before he was supposed to attend the Grammy awards. Both Rihanna and Brown were scheduled to perform at the Grammys but subsequently dropped out. Neither star has made a public appearance sine the allegations, though Brown released a statement saying that “Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired.”
