Switching to a new office system, for example, from Windows XP to Windows Vista can be very frustrating. In fact, many users complain that their older software doesn’t work on the new operating systems and it ends up costing them a lot of money. At a certain point, the benefits of switching probably won’t outweigh the drawbacks. For instance, the reason most people switch now is for extra speed or a few new features, but eventually operating systems are going to be so fast that we would never need an upgrade, and they will come with so many extra bells and whistles that no one needs anymore. People will still upgrade their operating systems, but I am predicting that it will slow down much more.
