Introduction to SEO Methodology
Although every web site has a different set of problems to overcome and a different set of circumstances in which it exists, the same search engine optimization methodology can be used to help it to thrive. Some sites are purely to bring in web traffic, while other sites are simply a complement to a brick and mortar business. Some sites already receive a huge amount of traffic from one search engine marketing method or another, while others are new startups, trying to find some niche in which they can exert themselves. Some marketers have huge marketing budgets for their SEO and pay-per-click advertising, while others are running on a shoestring budget.
No matter under which scenario your site falls, the first step of a good methodology is always the same.
The first step is the SEO research.
If any part of the process of optimizing sites for search engines gets frequently overlooked, and to the most detriment, it is the process of search engine optimization research. People find web pages teaching them SEO. They leave conferences promising them that SEO willmake them millionaires. They are ready to go. They just want to start delving in and modifying their tags and content.
Do not do that!
Research, first.
